Samsung Expands One UI 7 Beta to More Galaxy Devices with Galaxy AI

If you use some upper mid-range and flagship Samsung phones, you may have used Galaxy AI for one or different reasons. For the uninitiated, Galaxy AI is powered by Google’s Gemini and Samsung’s own Bixby AI model. There’s no doubt that the company has been aggressively pushing Galaxy AI features with its software updates, with most of the features nowadays built into its flagship devices. Well, if you are someone who hasn’t had a taste of Galaxy AI, there’s a high chance that this year, you’ll get to use Samsung’s AI ecosystem.

Samsung aims for massive Galaxy AI expansion in 2026

Samsung has reportedly announced that it plans a major expansion of its Galaxy AI ecosystem. Speaking to Reuters, Samsung’s co-CEO T.M. Roh said that the company is planning to double the number of mobile devices powered by Galaxy AI features this year as the AI race intensifies globally. Last year, Samsung integrated Galaxy AI features into nearly 400 million smartphones. But, this year, the South Korean tech giant is planning to double that figure and reach the milestone of 800 million units. In a statement, Roh said, “We will apply AI to all products, all functions, and all services as quickly as possible.”

Samsung, as you may know, is one of the biggest supporters of Google’s Android ecosystem as well as its AI goals. Most AI features that Roh said would be integrated into Samsung’s smartphones this year would be powered by Gemini AI. Gemini, as you may know, is one of the most capable AI models right now in the market. Google is doing enough to make sure the latest models, like Gemini 3, offer greater performance in all departments. The model became a massive hit the day it launched OpenAI’s CEO had to rush GPT-5.2 after a company-wide code red call.

Now that Samsung is making a move, Google is at a significant advantage as it will boost Gemini more than ever. Speaking of Samsung, it’s looking to reclaim its market share lost to Apple in the global smartphone market. Besides smartphones, Samsung is also planning to integrate AI features across tablets, TVs, and home appliances, all under Roh’s leadership.

More people have become aware of Galaxy AI

Roh further says that AI users have become more aware of the Galaxy AI. Per the internal survey conducted by Samsung, awareness nearly climbed up by about 80% in just one year, up from roughly 30%. He expects adoption to accelerate even more as AI features become more familiar to everyday users. “Even though the AI technology might seem a bit doubtful right now, within six months to a year, these technologies will become more widespread,” Roh said.

Despite the growing adoption of AI, Samsung isn’t immune to wider industry challenges. A global memory chip shortage has benefited its semiconductor business but is squeezing margins in its smartphone division. “As this situation is unprecedented, no company is immune to its impact,” Roh said, noting the shortage affects not only phones but also TVs and home appliances. While he didn’t rule out price increases, Roh said Samsung is working with partners on longer-term strategies to reduce the impact of rising memory costs.
